About the club

Re-established in 2023, Downpatrick Chess Club is a cross-community, intergenerational group that brings together local people — including children, young people, and adults — from the surrounding area of Downpatrick.

The club aims to harness interest in chess and creates opportunities for members to meet, play, and compete across the Newry, Mourne and Down district.
